| The World & Worldy Pleasure |
| | 17) | This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, |
18) | Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: |
19) | Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. |
20) | But ye have not so learned Christ; |
21) | If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: |
22) | That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; |
23) | And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; |
24) | And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. |
|
|
|
| 3) | For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. |
4) | But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, |
5) | Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; |
6) | Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; |
|
|
|
| 30) | Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? |
31) | Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? |
32) | (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. |
33) | But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. |
34) | Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. |
|
|
|
| 1) | There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. |
2) | For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. |
3) | For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: |
4) | That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. |
5) | For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. |
6) | For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. |
7) | Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. |
8) | So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. |
10) | And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. |
11) | But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. |
14) | For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. |
15) | For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. |
16) | The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: |
This promise is also in: Self, Eternal Life, Fellowship with God, The Holy Spirit, Peace, Salvation, Jesus Christ, The Body, Sin and Redemption, Fear, Death |

|
| 11) | Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; |
12) | Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation. |
