| | | 1) | Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. |
8) | Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; |
9) | And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. |
10) | Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. |
| 36) | Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence. |
| 24) | Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. |
25) | For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. |
26) | For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? |
27) | For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works. |
| 17) | And he came down with them, and stood in the plain, and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Judaea and Jerusalem, and from the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, which came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases; |
18) | And they that were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed. |
19) | And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all. |
20) | And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God. |
21) | Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh. |
22) | Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake. |
23) | Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets. |
24) | But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation. |
25) | Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep. |
26) | Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets. |
27) | But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, |
28) | Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. |
| 18) | If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. |
19) | If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. |
20) | Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. |
21) | But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me. |
