| | | | 38) | Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: |
| 39) | But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. |
| 40) | And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also. |
| 41) | And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. |
| 42) | Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away. |
| 43) | Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. |
| 44) | But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; |
| 45) | That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. |
| 46) | For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? |
| 47) | And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? |
| 48) | Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. |

| | 17) | Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth: |
| 18) | Lest the LORD see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him. |

| 32) | For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them. |
| 33) | And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same. |
| 34) | And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again. |
| 35) | But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. |
| 36) | Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. |
| 37) | Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: |
| 38) | Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. |

| | 5) | Open rebuke is better than secret love. |
| 6) | Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful. |

| | 10) | Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. |
| 11) | Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish. |
| 12) | Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought. |
| 13) | For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee. |
