| | | 2 Corinthians 4:8-12,16-18 | |
8) | We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; |
9) | Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; |
10) | Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. |
11) | For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh. |
12) | So then death worketh in us, but life in you. |
16) | For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. |
17) | For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; |
18) | While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. |
| 2) | It is better to go to the house of mourning, than to go to the house of feasting: for that is the end of all men; and the living will lay it to his heart. |
| 14) | I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction: repentance shall be hid from mine eyes. |
| 6) | But godliness with contentment is great gain. |
7) | For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. |
8) | And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. |
9) | But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. |
10) | For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. |
17) | Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; |
18) | That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; |
19) | Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life. |
| 15) | But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah. |
