We see ourselves as the direct descendants of Jesus Christ and the first Christian communities as they were founded by the apostles and the apostle Mary Magdalene on behalf of our Lord. We are people who live and work following Christ. We profess the teachings of the early church fathers as well as the Holy Scripture, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, the Acts of the Apostles, the letters of Paul, the Revelation of John as well to the Apostles' Creed. The Holy Scripture is the sole basis of our community life and actions and we recognize no other authority in matters of faith apart from it. Our deacons/deaconesses, priests/priestesses and bishops/bishopwomen work on a voluntary basis. The church services and other events take place in house chapels, field chapels, in apartments (family church services) or outdoors. Matthew 28: 18 - 20 The Universal Life Church in Hesse is open to everyone, and no one is excluded, no matter what religious community they come from, whether someone is divorced and remarried, or only lives together as couples without a marriage certificate, or what sexual orientation they have or do not believe . Everyone is warmly invited to get to know us and support our work in the gospel, whether as an official member or even without being a member of our church. Matthew 6: 1 - 4, Acts 4: 34, 35 We see ourselves as part of a global church of peace and we treat other Christian churches and other religions with respect, love and respect, and we seek honest dialogue with everyone within the framework of ecumenism and we look forward to any kind of cooperation that arises from this. We are committed to religious freedom, which is guaranteed to us by the Basic Law of the Federal Republic of Germany, and to the free exercise of peaceful religious activities without interference, be it from a church or a state. We stand up for human rights, freedom of belief, peace and non-violence, and for the laws of every state in which we live, as long as people's basic rights are protected and defended. The Universal Life Church in Hesse rejects any kind of anti-Semitism, xenophobia and racial hatred, and we advocate the strict separation of church and state.
