| Comfort and Times of Trouble |
| | 3) | Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; |
4) | Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. |
5) | For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ. |
6) | And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation. |
7) | And our hope of you is stedfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation. |

| 2 Corinthians 4:8-12,16-18 | |
8) | We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; |
9) | Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; |
10) | Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. |
11) | For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh. |
12) | So then death worketh in us, but life in you. |
16) | For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. |
17) | For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; |
18) | While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. |

|
| 7) | And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. |
8) | For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. |
9) | And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. |
10) | Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. |
|
|
|
| 12) | Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. |
|
|
|
| 12) | Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: |
13) | But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. |
14) | If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. |
15) | But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters. |
16) | Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. |
