| Wisdom & Discernment(Self-Control) |
| | 28) | He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls. |
This promise is also in: Self |

| 1) | Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things. |
2) | But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things. |
3) | And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God? |
4) | Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? |
5) | But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; |
6) | Who will render to every man according to his deeds: |
7) | To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: |
8) | But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, |
9) | Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; |
10) | But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile: |
11) | For there is no respect of persons with God. |
|
|
|
| 16) | Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: |
17) | Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. |
18) | Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, |
19) | And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God. |
20) | Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, |
21) | (Touch not; taste not; handle not; |
22) | Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men? |
23) | Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh. |
|
|
|
| 7) | For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. |
8) | Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; |
|
|
|
| 3) | According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: |
4) | Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. |
5) | And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; |
6) | And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; |
7) | And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. |
8) | For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. |
9) | But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. |
10) | Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: |
11) | For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. |
