| | | | 20) | For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God. |
| 21) | For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: |

| | 14) | But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled; |
| 15) | But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: |
| 16) | Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ. |

| | 12) | Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: |
| 13) | But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. |
| 14) | If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. |
| 15) | But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters. |
| 16) | Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. |

| | 3) | And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, |
| 4) | They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. |
| 5) | Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? |
| 6) | This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. |
| 7) | So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. |
| 8) | And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. |
| 9) | And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. |
| 10) | When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? |
| 11) | She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. |

| | 17) | And he came down with them, and stood in the plain, and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Judaea and Jerusalem, and from the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, which came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases; |
| 18) | And they that were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed. |
| 19) | And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all. |
| 20) | And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God. |
| 21) | Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh. |
| 22) | Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake. |
| 23) | Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets. |
| 24) | But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation. |
| 25) | Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep. |
| 26) | Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets. |
| 27) | But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, |
| 28) | Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. |
