| | | 19) | Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; |
20) | And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: |
|
|
|
| 20) | I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. |
|
|
|
| 5) | Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: |
6) | For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: |
7) | In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them. |
8) | But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. |
9) | Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; |
10) | And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: |
11) | Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all. |
|
|
|
| 3) | For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. |
4) | But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, |
5) | Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; |
6) | Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; |
|
|
|
| 6) | Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. |
8) | He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. |
9) | Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. |
10) | In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. |
11) | For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. |
12) | Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous. |
13) | Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you. |
14) | We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. |
15) | Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. |
16) | Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. |
17) | But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? |
18) | My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. |
19) | And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him. |
20) | For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. |
21) | Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. |
