| | | 6) | Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. |
8) | He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. |
9) | Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. |
10) | In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. |
11) | For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. |
12) | Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous. |
13) | Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you. |
14) | We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. |
15) | Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. |
16) | Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. |
17) | But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? |
18) | My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. |
19) | And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him. |
20) | For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. |
21) | Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. |

| 22) | Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: |
|
|
|
| 25) | And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors. |
26) | But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve. |
27) | For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth. |
|
|
|
| 1) | I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. |
2) | And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. |
3) | For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. |
4) | For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: |
5) | So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. |
6) | Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; |
7) | Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; |
8) | Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness. |
9) | Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. |
10) | Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; |

| 38) | Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: |
39) | But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. |
40) | And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also. |
41) | And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. |
42) | Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away. |
43) | Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. |
44) | But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; |
45) | That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. |
46) | For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? |
47) | And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? |
48) | Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. |
