| | | 12) | Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; |
13) | Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. |
14) | And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. |
15) | And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. |
16) | Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. |
17) | And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. |

| 11) | Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; |
12) | Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation. |
|
|
|
| 14) | But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled; |
15) | But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: |
16) | Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ. |

| 1) | And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins: |
2) | Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: |
3) | Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. |
4) | But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, |
5) | Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) |
6) | And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: |
7) | That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. |
8) | For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: |
9) | Not of works, lest any man should boast. |
