About the Church
Peace Community Chapel is committed to being a church for people who feel like they have been disconnected from God and the church for whatever reason. If you’re looking for a church where you can connect, follow and become the person God created you to be, then Peace Community Chapel may be the church for you. Peace Community Chapel is an independent, non-denominational body, drawn together by our journey of faith. With God’s help, we seek to: – grow a community where people of all ages and backgrounds pursue spiritual growth; – worship God in Word, music and Sacrament; – work together for God’s peace and justice; – explore practices of Christian spirituality; – be a community where individuals search for spiritual truth and renewal through worship, prayer and study; – care for and encourage those in need among our Church family, our neighbors locally and in the broader world. We invite you to join us on your journey. Our Mission: To follow Jesus; to actively and joyfully accept all, without judgment, as we grow in God’s Word together; to be a community that puts faith into action, as we serve our neighborhood and the world-at-large. …He has showed you, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To seek justice, to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. (Micah 6:8) Peace Community Chapel operates in association with Peace Community Ministries. Don Adams is an independent, non-denominational minister, and was very active growing up in the United Methodist Church in Sunday School, as an acolyte, teaching Vacation Bible School, and in Youth Ministry. During his college years, he held leadership positions with the interdenominational Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and was active in campus ministry. Later, Don served for many years in Lay Ministry; as Lay Leader in a United Methodist congregation, leading various ministries, including a Taped Ministry, which brought taped copies of worship services to the sick and shut-in. After serving as Lay Leader for nearly ten years, Don answered the call to pastoral ministry, was licensed for Pastoral Ministry in the United Methodist Church and was appointed to his home church as the Associate Pastor. He then served as pastor to a small New England church and his own congregation.
